Aidan Thorne is a multidisciplinary artist and musician based in Vancouver, British Columbia, with deep roots in the Cowichan Valley. Born in Victoria in 1991, Thorne grew up immersed in the creative culture of Vancouver Island. He earned a BFA in Painting and Drawing from Concordia University in Montreal, where he also began exploring music and carving as expressive outlets.
Thorne’s artistic practice spans visual art, songwriting, and traditional carving. His work often reflects themes of personal growth, cultural identity, and the natural world. After returning to the West Coast, he deepened his carving skills through mentorships supported by the First Peoples’ Cultural Council, allowing him to reconnect with traditional techniques and storytelling.
As a musician, Thorne is known for his involvement in projects like The Flowering Eyeballs and Zuzu’s Petals, blending experimental folk, improvisation, and poetic lyricism. He has also collaborated with artists such as Dante DeCaro and contributed to events like the Musical Tea for Peace Tour, which combines live music with community engagement.
